- MAHDIA is situated on the eastern coast in the centre of the republic of Tunisia. It is a peninsula, stretched in the Mediterranean, and surrounded by three seas. It has a mild climate that is usually affected by the Mediterranean air currents.
It is 200 km, far from Tunis, the capital.
Its economy basically relies on agriculture and on fishing.
